Dallas, Texas — Studio Pottery

Vessels shaped
by hand, forged
in flame.

Rachel B. Rose builds one-of-a-kind sculptural ceramics — organic vessels, trumpet vases, and wall hangings where the glaze has the final word.

The Studio

Formed from clay, shaped by instinct,
singular by design.

Dallas-based ceramic artist Rachel Rose creates sculptural vessels that explore the space between functional pottery and fine art. She studied at the Dallas Creative Arts Center and with ceramic artists from Denmark and Belgium, developing an approach inspired by organic forms, landscapes, and the natural movement of water and earth.

Ceramics has become a central part of Rose's life and creative practice. She spends much of her time in the studio refining hand-built forms and layered glaze surfaces that reflect the beauty of nature. Her work is influenced by her longstanding love of flowers and natural design.

As a volunteer with the Dallas Museum of Art League, she helps create floral arrangements for the museum atrium, and through the Dallas Women's Council she participates in seasonal planting projects for the Women's Garden.

01

Slab & drape

Clay is rolled into a flat slab, then draped and folded by hand while still soft — the ruffles and lobes come from gravity, not a mold.

02

Slow bisque

Each form is left to firm up gradually before its first firing, locking in the exact fold and lean it took while wet.

03

Glaze & fire

Custom glaze blends are hand-applied and fired to let color pool, break, and shift across every ridge — no two results the same.
